Each year, faculty, staff and students from PDPS attend the Poultry Science Association annual meeting. In 2018, PDPS hosted a reception with the goal of graduate student recruitment and networking. There were limitations to the materials permitted at PSA. A small, 2-sentence blurb was allowed in the daily program. A single 12″ x 18″ poster was permitted on a notice board in the main conference lobby.
I was asked to draft the blurb and create a poster. I created a poster at the maximize size allowed by PSA. It was printed on 80lb paper and laminated with a matte laminate for durability (the item had to travel from Raleigh, NC to San Antonio, TX). Since PDPS has many areas of research, including chicken physiology and production, turkey physiology and production, feed milling, egg production and processing and primary genetics and disease research, I tried to identify icons that would represent the primary areas of focus. The colors are from the NC State brand palette.
